SkyFoogle

A Skyfoogle is an imaginary creature that has a generally gryphon-like body, with the rear paws, ears, and flank of a Jackrabbit, the wings, front talons, beak, and patches of feathers of a Magpie, and the tail of a skunk. It is completely blind, and depends on echolocation, electrolocation, and thermolocation. The word was originally used by my favorite children’s author Michael Rosen, who never described the creature and made that lack of explanation to be the punchline of the poem of the same title.
